These are a few close-ups from my breakfast this morning

And a nice breakfast it was indeed!

New start

Little Chef is making a hotdog

Topped with mashed potatoes and ketchup

I'm mixing spaghetti, pesto, fresh basil, tomatoes and ham
Not so elegant, but yummy!

We have work to do and need energy

fast and easy!

Our out house

Going down!

Yorkshire lad getting an overlook

The brick wall has fallen.

All the bricks has started creative thoughts in our heads!

The cement between them was mouldering

and can easily be removed with a hammer.

We stack them

They will stay put, until we know what to do with them!

Patio, outdoor fire, who knows!

We'll let creativity grow for a while!

My back and hands are aching

of all the brick carrying!

We suddenly have a lot of room in our garden!

It's a new start

When an old door closes

a new one opens.

Thats one of my favourite sayings

because it is true,

oh so true!

Out house

In our garden

we have an old outhouse

It is as old as the house,

but years of rain and snow

has made the roof heavy to carry.

The wood is rotten and soft

the tiles are broken

There was an outdoor toilet in the out house

On the walls there is written messages from the past:

"7/5-58 I love Eric"

If you ever have met an old house like this

you will know that these buildings has souls

In the walls they have stories about

people and times

Our out house has an old and tired soul

It is kneeling of old age

and could bring danger if it fell

The decision has been made
The old outhouse is going down on wednesday
The door is closed for the last time
and it's not without sadness!

Life at the Cabin

Even if there is electricity at the cabin

it's always nice to light candles.

this is our new addition

And old kerosene lamp!

It lights the room up very cosily

and gives warmth too

At night: lovely cold white wine

And some prawns, delicious!

This is how I make toast at the cabin, in the oven

under the grill.

Highly more effective than the toaster we used to have!

And in this little kettle

I boil our eggs for breakfast!

New Gadget!

For a long time, I felt like this: trapped with my film memories in a glass wall.

My camera use Firewire to transfer films to my PC

But in my new laptop there is no where to plug the Firewire!

How frustrating!

But then after more than a year of searching

I found another way!

This is my new Friend!

Dazzle.

And now I'm about to burn all my digital tapes on DVD's.

The next thing is to try to transfer the VHS films the same way.
And I am such a happy nerd!

Soul mates

Sometimes in a lifetime

you meet someone that will mean something special to you

Your soul recognizes a kindered soul

You know this is someone special.

This happened to me many years ago when I was 16

I met my best friend and soul mate

We had so much fun!

Then some years later

my soul mate found a Danish lad and moved with him to Denmark

I found my English lad and brought him home with me to Norway

we had finished school, got jobs, got married, had kids

Our days were busy

and the physical distance between us seemed impossible to overcome

still our souls were connected

every now and then we sent letters filled with longing

Then there was email

and the communication became more frequent

once more we became a part of eachothers everyday life

Even though we rarely met in person

I remember picturing the two of us in the future

when our kids got older and more independent

and we slightly middle aged

then we might be able to meet

more regularely.

And now we're there

Tomorrow I'll meet my soul mate in Denmark

No husbands, no kids, off work

just two 41 year old 16 year olds!
