Football, Earth Hour and a few nuts

It's time to celebrate Earth Hour

We're ready

at least I am

I've made a fire

charged my PC

Turned of all the lights
lit loads of candles

But
and isn't there always a bu!
My husband is insisting to watch football.
After all, it's Norway vs Denmark
and he wants the Norwegians to kick som serious Danish butts!
A compromise has been made;
Everything off, except the tv. And to the game:
just raisins and nuts.

Our Enchiladas was prepared and consumed

in good time before everything went dark!

Boys will be boys

Every now and then

my husband, the yorkshire lad

invites a few of his friends over to watch a football match on tv

The menue is maybe not the typical football kind of menue

They just love them some cheesy scones!

And the kind wife always treats them with a batch!

They shout and cheer and enjoy the ups and downs

until the match is over.

Tonight there is not even a match to watch,

but why not meet any way

they just light some candles, talk

and drink tea with their scones

Who says men can't talk with eachother!

December thoughts

I love candles

they burn so quietly

So peacefully

giving warmth and light

Every morning, afternoon and night

we burn several candles

This time of the year we only have daylight

a couple of hours in the middle of the day

if it's a clear day.

We stay inside and burn our candles

hibernating in the dark season.

The most eaten fruit of the season in Norway

is clementines

Not from here of course,

This one is a sweet treasure from Spain.

The smell of clementines

is the smell of Christmas!

In Norway it was common to clean your entire house

before Christmas.

This is not such a common tradition amongst my generation
Why should we do that, when no one can see a thing?

One trick is to burn Christmas incense

To make your house smell nice

And if you really want it to smell like you've actually cleaned ceiling and walls, then you can fill a little saucer with pine-sol and hide it behind a curtain in your living room, I'm just saying...

Earth Hour

Today we will

Turn the lights out for an hour

to show our voice and vote for Earth

Its Earth hour

Something to remember

In every dark corner of our house

a candle

on top of the fireplace

a candle under my Christmas incense

Now, note to self :

Change battery in Every smoke detector!

We don't want to become a part of the Christmas housefire statistics!
