I have a handy gadget called an apple peeler/corer/slicer by Pampered Chef that gives me just such apple rings! I enjoy apple season very much.
Marjie: my gadget is just an old crooked thing, to take the core out. after I've peeled them with a peeler..

Anette, you should have a food dryer. We have oner like this: http://www.ukjuicers.com/stockli-dehydrator-with-timer it's good for blueberries, muhrooms and apples.
