Pile up food

Half of the burger
is the bread.
And all the other stuff you can manage to pile up
on top of the burger

Grab and eat!

Meat and potato pie

I'm married to a Yorkshire lad
and if I really want to make him happy
I'll make him some true British grub
All I need is meat, onions, potatoes and carrots
thyme, rosmary, salt and pepper
and my friend, time...
Home made pastry: wheat flour, butter, salt and water
covers the meaty goodness in the pie dish

Take a photo before hacking through

Ah! the simple and good life!
And the Yorkshire lad
was so pleased!

Stew a la March

A piece of meat
Some potatoes
To make ovenbaked potato wedges
This is a helpful tip:
After cutting each potato in 6 or 8 wedges
put them in a plastic bag.
Then you can add oil and spices
close the bag and shake and roll'it untill
everything has been everywhere
Then just drop it in the baking pan or tray that you want to use.
I add a bit more spices, salt and pepper,
some of it tend to be left in the bag.
For the meat stew:
Meat, onion, carrot, cellery, champignon, stock, red wine, spices
add a lttle maizena to thicken the stock
Simmer calmly for a long time
and taste it a few times to make sure its good
The smell in the kitchen is ahh! lovely!
The chili, rosemary, thyme and cinnamon, I'm in love with these!
While eating there is no sounds but
the sounds of enjoying

Preperations

My cookie-tins are still leaking
Today I've made some more
These are one of my favourites,
better make them just before Christmas
to avoid empty boxes when Christmas is here.
They have nuts, almonds and chocolate in
crunchy and nice!
I put them in an old box I got from my dear grandmother

The lamb of leg has been thawing in the fridge for two days
Tomorrow it'll slow roast for hours, to make a lovely
Christmas dinner

Stockings are up,
ready to be filled

Pork ribs

This is the way I make pork ribs, the bones are cut
the rind is cut in squares
but the meat ate in one piece.
Cover up and let it stay in the oven for 45 min (220 C), with a bit of water
the rind gets blown up
It'll make nice crackling

My dear swede once again
Peel and cut in to pieces

Boil with a potato, and make mash

After 45 min, remove the foil from the pan and leave in oven (180 C) for 2,5 hours

Plenty of meat and crackling for everyone
Today and probably tomorrow!

For many Norwegians this meat is the ultimate Christmas Dinner.
Some of them might think that we are way out of line
eating it on an ordinary Sunday
But we do as we please
and our Christmas Dinner is something else.
I'll come back to it when we get there!

Another good feeding

A bit of pork
slowly roasting in the oven

After a rest, cut in slices
Dinnertime:

For dessert: bread pudding
bread, soaked in whisked milk and egg
butter, cinnamon, sugar and raisins
baked in the oven, the pan placed in a tray of water
and serve with red fruity sauce
